Tell Ukraine to Stop Burning Animals Alive

Stop Burning Animals Alive

The city Lysychansk (eastern Ukraine) is shooting and burning animals alive as part of Football Preparations for Eurofoot 2012.

Ukrainian Authorities are now using a mobile crematorium to exterminate stray animals. The local government bought a mobile crematorium for the disposal of stray animals. The mobile team of drivers and dog catchers are armed with a gun to shoot strays. The mobile crematorium also lends it to other cities and districts of the region.

The captured animals are thrown alive into the oven to 900 degrees C. According to locals, the dogs and cats burned alive.

Stray animals are being burned alive in the Ukraine to prepare the streets for a much-anticipated Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) tournament.

For years Ukraine has used illegal methods to solve the stray dog and cat problem. Previously the animals were being killed with ditiline, a poison that attacked the animals’ respiratory system. But now that there is a sense of urgency to organize for the tournament stray animals are being tossed into incinerators.

The crematorium is mobile and operated by a driver, an operator and a catcher “armed” with a syringe gun. They paralyze the animals and throw them into the container. When they collect 40 kilos, they burn the paralyzed dogs and cats while they are still alive. In other words, the captured cats and dogs are thrown alive into the oven to 900 degrees Celsius.

Animal activists were upset before that their cries against ditiline hadn’t been heard, and now they are furious. Although UEFA officials claim to be concerned about the alleged burnings they have done nothing to investigate or stop them.

Please sign the petition below to ask the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine to investigate and to stop this brutal method of murdering innocent animals.

Stray Dogs and Cats Being Burned Alive in Ukraine

Ukraine and Poland won the bid to host the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. Government officials knew that major preparations needed to be arranged in the Ukraine in order to accomodate the thousands of people that attend the tournanment every year, but citizens were not aware that part of the preparation would include slaughtering stray animals.

For years, animal activists in Ukraine have been protesting against the inhumane practices used to solve the stray animal problem. But their pleas have virtually gone unheard. And with the football tournamnent rapidly appraching, things have taken a turn for the worse.

Subject: mass killings of stray animals in preparation for Eurofoot 2012

“Mister President,

for a few months, and within the framework of the Eurofoot 2012, international networks and various media have been protesting against the extermination of indigenous animals taking place at the moment in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian administration gave its support, and allowed the use of crematorium furnaces to exterminate animals. The whole world is wondering about the reasons that led your government to such a decision, a distressing solution, unworthy of a civilised country.

This is not only a shock for animal loving people but it also offends the respect of the collective memory. It is a very traumatic and immoral way of acting, specially in Europe, where the trauma is still in every memory.

In doing so, your country takes part in the fact that violence becomes more commonplace, and in forgetting History, thus risking to influence very negatively thousands of animal and football supporters.

You cannot hide your acts: these crematorium furnaces, poisonning and mass graves of animals are seen by people and children all over the world.

This situation leads to increasing world-wide information campaigns and protests against the atrocities that are being carried out in your country.

You can thus expect boycott of tourism and commerce, advertising against Ukraine, demonstrations in front of your embassies, travel agencies, on the internet and various media.

Mister President, the international community asks you to collaborate and so reassure your fellow-countrymen on the situation in Ukraine. Not doing so would be harmful to the beauty and values of your country, would reduce tourism, and increase the lack of consideration and interest for the Eurofoot 2012.

We diplomatically ask you to collaborate with well-known international animal welfare organisations that can advise you, and help your administration achieve a spay and neuter program right now.

Yours respectfullly, “

You must know someone in your circle of relatives and friends who own a pet – would you allow them to do this to an innocent creature? These dogs and cats aren’t running around to aggravate you and “mess up your streets”– they would rather have loving owners who take care of them, water and feed them. I am HORRIFIED by your method. What horrible, horrible deeds you are committing. PLEASE GROW A HEART!
If only you knew what it means to have a pet. Please contact the Humane Society International for help.

Please stop this inhumane treatment of the animals. Animals are God’s little fur children as we are His human children and He created us to life a happy and healthy life to the best of our knowledge and instincts in the animals survival. Please do not allow this killing to go on. You may get away with it now but at the judgement day before God you will have to answer to what and why you did this killing to His animals.

Killing animals for a frigging sport? Idiots!
