Chihuahua attacks armed robbers at California store
Last Monday, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials released the surveillance video of the event, in the hopes of catching the two assailants. It shows two hooded men, one armed with a rifle, running into the store and demanding money.

It also shows Paco the chihuahua running up to the men and barking fiercely at the men, who beat a hasty retreat, taking less money than they might have. Paco then chases the thieves down the street, nipping at their ankles as they run.

New York Animal Rights Alliance America hosts the First National Protest in America Against Kill Pounds this Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 1:30 to 5 PM at the Brooklyn Animal Care and Control facility at 2336 Linden Blvd.
There will be 20 participating shelters and pounds across America who will either be in support of their shelter or protesting their pound in solidarity with our group in NY. We will host the protest with live feed from the Brooklyn AC&C with up to 300 people wearing red expected to arrive to protest the ongoing and daily slaughter of sweet, innocent, defenseless, adoptable dogs and cats.
We will be signing our second Personal Declaration to be submitted to Mayor Bloomburg, the entire City Council, Board of Directors of NY AC&C and Julie Bank, the Executive Director to demand that the killing of our cats and dogs stops immediately, that free spay neuter be provided to every citizen in the city of NY that will in the long run save tax dollars, that superior veterinary care be provided to every animal surrendered, that there is a professional and competent call center for adoptions and volunteers, that behavior and training specialists attend to every animal’s needs, and that the Queens and Bronx facilities be built immediately even though the City of NY won an appeal from a judge’s order to build them. We also demand that the city of NY rescind their weight limit on dogs and enforce mandatory spay/neuter in public housing. We will also have a notary on hand to take testimonies of abuse, neglect and incompetence in preparation for legal action against the NY AC&C.
We at the NY-ARAA are waging nothing less than a revolution on a kill system that has us animal lovers way past the boiling point. We now rise up and bring this slaughter into the average American’s consciousness. We spill into the streets of America with all of our emotions, our anger, our sorrow, our disgust, and our despair, and turn those emotions into action. We will gather momentum with our protests as they will be ongoing until every dog and cat is rescued. We call upon the citizens of this country and our leaders to join us in ending this national nightmare for our dogs and cats.
